Memory Lane Garden TW10

Posted on 20th June 2013

This sensory garden for Ham Day Centre was designed to benefit clients suffering from dementia and also the staff and relatives who care for them. Plants and materials were chosen to evoke the senses and were grouped throughout the garden to help users remember different aspects of their lives such as childhood, productive years, and relationships. Raised beds were incorporated to make it easier for the elderly clients to interact with the plants and a circular path returned them to a central area in which to sit and relax under the shade of a pergola.
