The Remix garden SE1

Posted on 5th September 2014

We were invited to take part in a Cityscapes public garden installation project from August to October in 2013. Four new versions of Wilson McWilliam Studio’s Cloudy Bay Discovery Garden which appeared at RHS Chelsea Flower Show, re-materialised in the courtyard of the iconic OXO Tower Wharf on the South Bank of the Thames. ¬†Materials from the garden were remixed into four unique garden installations by four designers in the same manner that a song would be remixed by different producers.

Our remix was called ‘water is life’ ¬†and we added to the mix elements from our RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower show garden for Ecover.

Exploding from the paved surface, giant galvanised culverts commonly used in construction to divert water courses protruded at gentle angles, and from the top a bounty of plants and materials from the two gardens erupted giving dynamism and life to the urban area
